How do I transition my dog from kibble to raw?
For adult dogs, transitioning to 100% raw can be done gradually over a two-week period:
- Days 1–3: Mix 20% raw with 80% kibble.
- Days 4–6: Mix 40% raw with 60% kibble.
- Days 7–9: Mix 60% raw with 40% kibble.
- Days 10–12: Mix 80% raw with 20% kibble.
- Days 13–14: Remove kibble entirely and feed 100% raw.
For puppies, no transition period is necessary. Start with fully balanced raw meals immediately.
Can I mix kibble and raw together? Is it okay to feed both?
Yes, you can mix raw and kibble! However, we strongly recommend limiting raw food to 20–30% of the total meal. When raw exceeds 30% of the meal, it can disrupt the nutrient balance of both the raw and kibble components, potentially causing more harm than good.
If you plan to use raw in this way, consider trying our Essential or Classic Blend! These options provide all the benefits of raw without the hassle of calculating exact nutrient ratios by weight.
